Training:
At Rosendale Acres training is an ongoing process that begins with teaching a young horse how to learn, then guiding them through developing their confidence and abilities. A horse should enjoy the learning experience as should the rider. Training a horse also includes helping the owners understand how to work with their horse in a safe and enjoyable setting and by seeing training from the horse’s perspective.
Christine studies each horse’s body type and character, which helps her define the horse’s ability so she is able to bring out the best in each one. As people are suited to different roles, so are horses, and it is her goal to assess each horse individually and find that unique role where success is easy and enjoyable. It is important to be able to evaluate the horse’s ability, temperament and personality and determine whether the horse is suitable for its current role, future goals and rider’s ability.
Christine also endeavours to pass this knowledge on to the horse’s owner (or rider) and provide them with a suitable horse and the understanding and knowledge that will enable them to safely continue their horse’s training.
Lessons:
Lessons go hand in hand with training but are also offered separately to those without experience wanting to learn the basics.
